Subfloor (floor and wall):
- 944 Europlan Alphy Quick can be applied on any type of stony subfloor that is alpha half hydrate, rigid and with a good tensile and compression strength. The subfloor should also be clean, permanently dry, free from grease and dirt, according to the requirements of BS 8203 or DIN 18 365.
- After sandpapering, clean the alpha half hydrate subfloor thoroughly with an industrial vacuum cleaner. If necessary prime with 044 Europrimer Multi, 049 Europrimer ABS or 099 Dispersion primer and let it dry sufficiently. In some cases it is not necessary to prime.
- Before filling cracks, holes and other irregularities in alpha half hydrate surfaces, remove dust thoroughly and prime with 044 Europrimer Multi, 049 Europrimer ABS or 099 Dispersion primer and let it dry sufficiently.
- For wall application, due to the firmness of the mortar use the minimum quantity of water for mixing the powder.
- In advance always seek our technical data sheets. In doubt about the application ask for technical advice.
Working conditions:
Required surrounding temperature : 18° - 23° C.
Temperature for material and subfloor : min. 15° - max. 20ºC.
Relative humidity : 40-70%.
Directions for use:
- Depending on the application, add 23 kg of 944 Europlan Alphy Quick to approx. 5.0-6.0 litres of cool and clean tap water.
- Stir the mortar mechanically to a smooth and homogenous mixture.
- Apply the mortar within 10-15 minutes with a trowel.
- Protect the fresh repairs against draft and direct sunlight.
- After approx. 25-35 minutes reparation spots can be finished with a wet sponge and a trowel till a smooth surface is achieved.
- In case a layer thickness of more than 50 mm is required, 944 Europlan Alphy Quick can be extended with max. 30 % of 846 Quartzsand (related to percentage of 944 Europlan Alphy Quick).
- For extended information about the safety measures we refer to our material safety data sheet.
Underfloor heating systems:
944 Europlan Alphy Quick can be applied on underfloor heating systems. Turn off the heater 24 hours before application; do not heat again until at least 24 hours after installation, in steps of maximum 5° C water temperature per day.
